Writer's Block for baritone voice and piano (1994)
text by Michael Glaser
3-4 minutes
Michael Glaser was a much-respected colleague of mine at St. Mary’s College of Maryland who served as poet laureate of Maryland from 2004 to 2009. His poetry is honest, deeply personal, and at times almost tactilely physical. The text of this stand-alone song compares the frustration of writer’s block with another situation in which many of us also find it difficult to be productive.
