Vinicunca for brass quintet (2021)

Vinicunca is a mountain in Peru, also known as Montaña de Siete Colores (Mountain of Seven Colors) or Montaña Arcoíris (Rainbow Mountain). Its strikingly varied coloration is the result of a wide range of minerals in its composition. The title here refers to the first movement, where mutes, stopped horns, etc. create an analogous range of colors. Vinicunca was premiered by the Potsdam Brass Quintet in 2023.
